Joining SEED Software
The main purpose of the SEED project is to provide graduates with the real-world experience which will help them to find a good permanent job - so we don't expect our trainees to stay with us for more than about six months. This means that we're always on the lookout for new participants. If you think you might fit the bill, contact us to discuss it.
How does it work?
If you're accepted for a work placement at SEED Software, you'll join one of a number of small development teams. Your team will typically be responsible for the development of a solution for a customer from start to end. You might be involved in negotiating contracts, capturing requirements, preparing designs, writing code and documentation, testing, support... or all of these.
What qualifications do I need?
You'll need to have a good (usually 2:ii or better) degree in Computer Science, software Engineering or a similar discipline. You'll need to be motivated. And you'll need to be unemployed, because the aim of the SEED project is to increase the employability of unemployed graduates.
What do I get paid?
You don't. SEED is a not-for-profit organisation supported by the European Social Fund, so we don't have much income from which to pay salaries. If you join the project, it will be a work placement from which you benefit in terms of experience and skills development. We can pay expenses of up to £80 per week for the duration of your contribution to the project.
How do I apply?
If you're ready to apply to SEED, you can download an application form.
